Long-used, much-studied turmeric a key Protandim ingredient
When you first learned of Protandim, you
probably researched to find out its ingredients. Some--maybe
all--of these ingredients were new to you even though they've been
used in other parts of the world for centuries.
One of Protandim's five botanical ingredients is turmeric
extract. Turmeric is a perennial plant of the ginger family
Zingiberaceae. It grows in southern Asia, most specifically in
India where it thrives in warm, humid temperatures and abundant
rainfall.
Turmeric has been used in Chinese herbal medicine and by natives
of India for more than 2,500 years, possibly much longer. The list
of health conditions turmeric may help to alleviate is impressive.
Research suggests it may be helpful for the following
conditions:
• Indigestion
• Stomach ulcers
• Osteoarthritis
• Heart Disease
• Bacterial and viral infections
• Cancer
• Alzheimer's disease
On its own, Turmeric is a weak Nrf2 activator; however, when it
is combined with the other ingredients in the specially designed
formulation, Protandim is a powerful Nrf2 synergizer.
Turmeric is also used to color cheeses, popcorn, cake icings,
cereal, yogurt, dry mixes, salad dressings, margarine, mustard and
chicken broth. It has also been used in India for wedding and
religious ceremonies.
Scientists continue to study the effects and benefits of
turmeric. You can enjoy its benefits along with those of four other
ingredients in Protandim.
